Mary Catherine Havens L'Hommedieu (1765-1843)
Mary Catherine Havens L'Hommedieu was the daughter of Sarah Fosdick and Nicoll Havens. She was born on Shelter Island, NY on September 25, 1765. On June 15, 1803, Mary Catherine Havens married Ezra L’Hommedieu, making the wedding Ezra’s second marriage. The couple gave birth to their daughter in 1806 and named her after her mother. Ezra passed away on September 27, 1811 and willed the Sylvester Manor estate to Mary Catherine Havens, which was inherited by Mary Catherine L’Hommedieu Gardiner and Samuel Smith Gardiner when Mary Catherine Havens L’Hommedieu passed away in 1843.
