Description
Teresa Reyes Trujillo and her husband Doroteo Trujillo settled in Pomona, California, and started a family there. They would grow into a family of eight. The baptismal records for five of their children span the years from 1926 to 1941. Their children are named (in order from oldest to youngest): Carmen Trujillo Reyes, Margerita Trujillo Reyes, Juan Trujillo Reyes, Gabriel Trujillo Reyes, Maria Guadalupe Trujillo, and Andres Trujillo Reyes. All children except Maria Guadalupe have recorded baptismal records in the A-files.
The records acted as a secondary birth certificate. In Trujillo's A-files, she uses her own baptismal records in lieu of a birth certificate. Similarly, all children except for Maria Guadalupe have baptismal records, but no recorded birth certificate.
Furthermore, the baptismal records confirmed Trujillo's involvement in the church. At that time, attachment to religion, especially Christianity, was an important factor in gauging someone's character.
