Inside can be found the state requirements in regard to history education. Page 78 depicts Texas’ course offerings in Social Studies education. In grade four, students take “Texas in the Western Hemisphere,” and in grade seven, they take “Texas Studies.” The document states that at the time, curriculum revision was not yet scheduled and may not occur for another three to eight years. Additionally, one of the key issues they focus on is the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
