It was written by Chong Goo, a former employer and an old friend of Lee’s uncle, Lee Yun Cheong. Mr. Goo’s letter is the longest affidavit in Lee’s A-file. This is both because Goo and Lee had known each other since Lee’s arrival in 1922 and so there is more to say, and because it is more personal and less formulaic than the other affidavits. Mr. Goo includes many details about Lee’s early days in California.
