It was written by Hue Wah, owner of the Tong Wo Hing Barber Shop at 155 Waverly Place in San Francisco. According to the letter, Wah and Lee worked together at this shop from April 1945 to January 1946 when Lee was transferred to the Tong Hing Barber Shop at 824 Clay St. Lee eventually transferred back to the Tong Wo Hing Shop in 1953.
